Runway East makes its mark in the Midlands
Runway East, brought its signature style to Birmingham with a new workspace at the Arca Building, just moments from New Street station.
Set across the ground and sixth floors, the design balances bold, expressive elements with details that reflect the character of the city. A range of shared spaces sit at the heart of the layout, including a large breakout area, multiple teapoints and a roof terrace, all positioned to encourage movement and interaction throughout the day.
A variety of work settings are woven into the space, from meeting rooms and phone booths to more informal areas for relaxed working. A standout feature is the sunken conversation pit, offering a distinctive setting for informal meetings.
The interior styling draws heavily on local references, with artwork, objects and materials sourced to create a strong sense of place. From graphic prints to subtle nods to Birmingham’s cultural icons, the space feels rooted in its surroundings while retaining a playful edge.
