A sophisticated new look for Runway East
Runway East’s latest London site marks our 14th collaboration with the coworking company known for its bold and playful spaces. Over time, our partnership has evolved, and with this latest project, we’ve taken a step towards a more premium and refined look while keeping the spirit of Runway East alive.
The building itself might not grab attention from the outside, so our challenge was to improve curb appeal — which has been done magnificently by the bespoke electric blue reception desk. It gives the building a distinctive identity without needing any flashy exterior upgrades, and it’s now hard to walk past the street outside without it catching your eye.
Runway East wanted to bring a premium feel to the space that complements the raw architecture. By embracing a Bauhaus-inspired, mid-century modern design, we celebrated the building’s industrial features such as exposed concrete soffits and structural walls, making them a key highlight of the fit-out.
With a neutral and earthy palette, this project moves towards a more sophisticated aesthetic. Yet, it still retains Runway East’s signature boldness with bright colour pops and statement pieces — like the bright green teapoints in every office.
Unlike previous Runway East sites, which include dedicated desking and communal meeting spaces, Borough Market focuses on larger serviced offices, each with its own teapoint and meeting rooms. Despite this, community remains central to the design, with a lively communal breakout space on the top floor, encouraging members to meet, work, and connect.

Ten years in and we’re pretty used to working with Interaction by now! Their designs consistently bring our spaces to life, and I’m always blown away by how the finished product looks and feels. It’s been great working with Lucy and the team on 150 Borough High Street as we continue to cement our position as one of London’s leading office space providers.

Design Features
This new workspace is all about the mid-century modern design details – from the furniture choices to the artwork. The Bauhaus-inspired pieces, especially the original Composition series prints by Studio Sander Patelski, inject personality and energy throughout each office. These prints actually inspired much of the overall design, giving the space a cohesive feel. Elsewhere, the sustainable, made-in-Britain wood Foresso provides the perfect teapoint splashback.
