A futureproofed workspace for a growing team
5 years after we completed Bishop Fleming’s Bristol office, their growing team was ready for an expansion. Already occupying the fifth floor of their central Bristol location, Bishop Fleming have now taken on the fourth floor, taking their total office space to nearly 20,000 sqft.
The brief was clear: to create a futureproofed office that included room for even more growth, which felt connected to the existing fifth floor workspace.

Flexible, collaborative and welcoming
Designed with growth in mind
Bishop Fleming needed more room for their growing team, but they also wanted to fix some of the gaps they’d spotted in their existing space. So, along with adding 48 new desks (and space for even more as they plan to grow from 230 to 300 Bristol employees), we focused on giving them what they were missing – flexible work areas, bigger meeting rooms, and plenty of spots for collaboration.
A new teapoint and breakout space makes it easier for people to come together, whether it’s for a brainstorming session or a quick coffee chat. And to keep the office feeling like one team, employees are still encouraged to use the larger fifth floor breakout space for lunch. That way, people still move between floors and stay connected.
Visually, we made sure the new floor felt like a natural extension of the fifth. We used the same tones and furniture, adding a modern touch to keep it fresh and futureproof. By staying withing the Bishop Fleming colours, we were able to reuse from Bishop Fleming’s Torquay office, reducing the need for new. Even the wave-like glazing manifestations – designed for privacy – carry a subtle nod to the brand, without feeling too corporate.
Every inch of the workspace has been thought through. The meeting rooms are fully fabric-panelled on three sides, creating an acoustically private spot for client conversations. The Broadcast room has a foldable table that can be wheeled away, transforming it into a training room or the perfect spot for webinars, complete with a Bishop Fleming-branded backdrop that looks just as smart on screen as it does in person.

Design Features
Details that matter.
Statement gold pendant lights from Pooky hang above the teapoint counter, adding a touch of glamour, while the Tom Raffield lamps – beautifully made from ash – brings modern elegance. The devil’s in the detail: statement artwork, bespoke upholstery and soft furnishings in the boardroom inject colour and character, creating a space that’s as welcoming as it is functional.
