Openwork is one of the UK’s largest and oldest financial advice and investment companies. They needed a new workplace to match their ongoing transformation, centred around two key words: key words, ‘Sustainability’ and ‘People’.
Interaction set out to design and create a brand-new sustainable workplace with modern office facilities that would allow flexibility for Openwork as they developed their ongoing strategy of agile and activity-based working.
This project would act as the model for future Openwork offices sites.
Creating the campus
Energy and flexibility
Large floor plates were transformed into an open feel office
space whilst cleverly using attractive joinery and dividers to
break spaces up. Focusing on sustainability, it was
important to retain and reuse mechanical and electrical
systems where possible, whilst upgrading to allow for new
breakout spaces, a café and training facilities. LED lights
were also installed throughout and furniture was sourced
from reliable and sustainable contractors and reused where
possible. The overall look and feel is a fresh, energetic and
flexible new workspace to be enjoyed by all.
The end result is an office space to inspire people, and the
concept of the ‘Openwork Campus’ has been brought to life.
The massive 35,000sq ft space spanning over two floors
encapsulates every need the business has and wraps it all
into one incredible place to work. From an on-site gym,
wellbeing suits, canteen and internal café, to progressive
training centres for their academy and a multitude of varied
and beautiful workspaces, Openwork now have a workplace
their staff can be proud of.
Design Features
Details that matter.
Plentiful biophilia throughout creates a natural and calming feel, while custom designed timber screen spindles divide open spaces. High benches and meeting pods are perfect for ad hoc and impromptu meetings. Branded manifestations adorn private meeting rooms and spaces, accentuated by an on-brand colour scheme design.
