A wellbeing-centred Innovation Lab, delivered in just 6 weeks

Gresham’s previous office, based on a farm, was bursting at the seams. Departments were separated by individual barns – literally siloed. The Brew House in Bristol, a grade II listed industrial building in the heart of the city was an ideal next home. Interaction’s brief was to create a space to attract talent, support retention, increase bonds and ultimately showcase the company.

The result: an energizing and flexible Innovation Lab with wellbeing at the centre of its design – delivered in just 6 weeks.

The quality and delivery of our Bristol office was never in doubt with Interaction. Their enthusiastic, honest and collaborative approach meant that we could trust the project would be delivered on time and on budget. But the team went beyond this, with a creative design we could never have imagined, thanks to their forward-thinking attitude.

Original features. Innovative approach

A focus on flow.

Interaction analysed how different parts of the office were used at different stages of the day, and created a design around this flow.

Vibrant colours highlight Gresham’s fun and fast-paced ethos. The broken-plan layout encourages employees to collaborate and work together across different departments, with focused work areas adjacent to the main space.

The Brew House is an old building with a lot of stunning original features that needed to be celebrated. The beautiful original windows and brickwork wrap around the core of the workplace. The high ceilings and curved brickwork are immediately striking – powerful reminders of the heritage of the building.

A tiered seating area is now one of the most used areas in the office, used for stand-up meetings, training and video conferences. Interaction also hand-built a bespoke trophy unit to showcase the success of their Bristol office.

The striking tea point is a central feature, a hub to gather and socialise. In keeping with a quirky and modern office design the eclectic mix of colours and furniture adds to the unique feel of the space.

A few months after moving into the office, Gresham filled all its vacant positions in Bristol; something they had been struggling to achieve for the previous 2 years.
