Passing with flying colours…

Having joined the team last summer, Todd has quickly found his feet in the world of Project Management, having recently graduated from the Project Management Academy. With this in mind, we thought it was a great time to find out a little more about him and his role at Interaction.

When did you start at Interaction?

“I joined the team in August last year as I was attracted by the Project Management Academy. I loved the idea of working my way up and learning lots in the process.

“Although I didn’t have any prior experience in office design and build, I spent a lot of time working in events. With that came familiarity in co-ordinating, organising and working under pressure – transferable skills that I’ve realised are equally as key when it comes to working on projects.”

How has your role developed since working here?

“Initially joining the team as an Assistant Project Manager, I would work on project specification and finance management, meaning I quickly had to get up to speed with excel; a vital skill when it comes to project work!

"Over time, I got to visit more and more projects, including those in Bath and Bristol, but also in further afield locations such as London and Manchester. I particularly like being out and about – it’s exciting to be in a client facing role, especially when their workplaces are finished and you see how happy they are with the end result.

I love that as Interaction grows, so does the reach of our work. This means we get to work on projects in lots of new locations. For an upcoming project in Reading I’m going to be doing a mix of Project and Site Management, which means a lot of pressure and multi-tasking… but I thrive on a challenge!"

What has been your highlight so far?

"The stand-out project I’ve worked on so far has to be Thrings in London, which was completed in March this year. I had to work really hard to get lots of budgets done, as we were on a tight turnaround...but it was so worth it, as the above picture proves! Seeing the sleek finished space was such a good feeling - I'm not surprised that the team are thrilled with it too.

"Other than the project side of things, I’m so smug that I get to work for such a forward-thinking company. The bar and gym come in handy too! Generally, we all work really hard, but this is always rewarded. There are even rumours that this year’s AGM is taking us abroad, but I’ll have to wait and see! Either way, I’m looking forward to my future at Interaction, and can’t wait to get stuck into my new official role as a fully-fledged Project Manager…"
