Clerkenwell 2018 ft. Interaction

Showrooms, talks and fancy dress galore.
Another year has passed, and therefore so has another Clerkenwell Design Week...
This year, around 20 members of the Interaction team headed up to have a peek at the latest showrooms, get inspired, and… make the most of all the fun and antics to be had! With four teams, we made sure we discovered as much of CDW as possible - find out about some of our highlights below.

#clerkenwellgood's product picks:
"Something that caught our eye was Havwood's reclaimed wood. It was certainly proof that old materials can be recycled and made into beautiful flooring - giving it a new lease of life, as well as any space it may be used in. We loved the fact that one of Havwood's pop up showrooms was in an old London bus - now there's a way to showcase your products!
"Aside from wood, we couldn't help but get very comfortable with Ocee Design's Ann on their new Alfi sofa (a blessing after we'd been walking around all day). We have a feeling it could be the perfect finishing touch to some workplace breakout areas or client meeting spaces."
Egle, Bethany, Matt and Sean
#pinkpanther's favourite seminar:
"The most informative talk that we attended was at Edge Design's showroom. Discussing the popular trend of Biophilia, Oliver Heath discussed how we can design with human nature in mind.
"By doing this (being aware of how we're attracted to nature and natural processes) we can improve the spaces that we live and work in: a people-centred approach that we're already very familiar with here at Interaction!"
Zoe, Nathan, Rasa, Harry and Gary
#COL's stand-out showroom
"A visit to CDW wouldn't be complete without stopping by at Frovi's showroom. We always enjoy seeing the latest Scandinavian-inspired products and particularly liked the touch of greenery by Exubia - another nod to the Biophilia design trend that has been huge this year.
"Spacestor's showroom was another highlight. As well as some great products (a favourite being their acoustic meeting pods) they had a bike connected to a smoothie maker; we were timed on how quickly we could mix the smoothie (hint: it's much harder than it looks!)"
Todd, Dieter, Victoria and Mary
#clerkenwellcowboys' favourite activities:
"It's hard to pick a favourite activity as we loved every minute of it, but we have to say we had a great time on Desso's pedal-bus. We had to work together to go anywhere - bringing a whole new meaning to Interaction's #togetherwearemore slogan!
"Aside from pedalling, we also loved getting creative at Print Club London's totebag-printing station. It was so therapeutic and even the non-designers amongst us managed to print successfully!"
#CDW2018 you did not disappoint! Each and every member of the team was inspired, entertained, and is already looking forward to next year! To see more of our fancy dress and general goings on, have a peek at our twitter profile...
