The Vision

Vistair were keen to have a workspace that reflected their world-class reputation, and that would help shape their working functions and culture.

The vision for updating their space in Almondsbury Business Centre (which was built at the turn of the century) revolved around creating a unifying space to support wellbeing and reflect their current standing in the market. This meant improving the flow across the two floors and four wings of the space, and creating areas that were generally more collaborative and sociable.

The Process

Initially, Interaction explored the needs and desires of the employees currently working in the space. After a series of staff engagement sessions, the design was developed to reflect the needs of the teams and allow them to work effectively.​

The process of the 12-week transformation was complex, as Interaction delivered the workplace in occupation and in two phases. The project involved significant CAT A works, alongside CAT B. ​

The Result

In addition to modernising the space with a brand new HVAC system, on-trend linear lights, and exposed beams and ductwork, Interaction have facilitated new ways of working thanks to a collection of collaborative spaces – this includes acoustic booths, soft seating, stand-up and scrum spaces, which allow people to work together no matter where they are in the building. 

Another key part of improving collaboration was to provide a large breakout area on one floor. Now in use, this area successfully links the two floors of the workspace together, helps to create a sense of cohesion, and actively encourages everyone to step away from their desks. 

The Feedback

The finished workspace has prompted a significant change in the way that Vistair work and the overall space is now more attractive, energetic, functional and unifying, with the client commenting how “it feels like a new place to work and staff members are saying how much they now enjoy coming into the office”.
