Interaction's Sporting Summer
Posted by Interaction on 16/09/2016
We look back on what's been a pretty active summer for the team at Interaction!
Sport and exercise is something that we all love taking part in as a team. When an opportunity comes up for us to get stuck in, it’s a rare occasion we turn it down; especially in our new Interaction branded kit. Our sporting summer all kicked off with a triathlon in June.
Colliers TRYathlon took place on the 20th of June in Bristol with over 250 people taking part to raise over £5,000 for Wooden Spoon Bath and Bristol. The charity helps disadvantaged and disabled children and young people, funding medical treatments centres, sensory rooms, specialist playgrounds and sport activity areas around the UK.
Dieter, Luke and Hayley all took part and did incredibly well - with Dieter coming 2nd in his category and 3rd overall!

Property Tri #showusyourraceface
A matter of weeks later it was JLL’s Property Tri. This time at Dorney Lake in Berkshire, one of the UK’s largest triathlons this year raising £190,000 for Starlight Children’s Foundation. The charity grants wishes to serious and terminally ill children and entertains over half a million children every year in hospitals and hospices throughout the UK.
This time Hannah joined Dieter, Hayley and Luke, with over 1569 people taking part it was huge event with a great cause. Dieter managed to come 77th out of all 1569 people, an impressive feat!
You can see us on the podium at the end of this video from JLL.
Tough Mudder #TogetherWeAreMore
This event probably produced the most chat and speculation, with things like “has anyone died doing it?” and “do we really have to get electrocuted?” ringing around the office. The course in Cirencester spans 10-12 miles with 20+ obstacles, the word ‘tough’ definitely rings true.
Although the preconception, rightly so, was of danger or difficulty on the day it was a different story. Those things definitely played a part in the experience, but it was an overwhelmingly rewarding and fulfilling day. We all pulled together, helping each other get over the obstacles, kept each other warm, supported one another and made it across the finish as a team.
BPAA South West #Cyclosportive 2016
The event is organised by the BPAA (Bristol Property Agents Association), kicking off in Keynsham and going through the surrounding area of Bristol with a very challenging and hilly course of 43 miles. Heidi, Sara, Kaiser, Rebecca, Ollie, Gary, Mike, Danielle, Dieter and Hayley all took part, with Mike and Dieter taking on the unforgiving 63 mile course.
Interaction were proud to sponsor the event with our very own feed station along the route. Everyone came together to complete the course as a team, Heidi even won a ‘social media’ prize for live streaming some of her bike ride (don’t try this at home).
In danger of sounding cliché, participating in these events do really help reinforce inter-personal relationships between us all and bring us closer. Not to mention supporting wellbeing - physically and psychologically. Especially events like Tough Mudder, where although we were all shivering, bruised, covered in mud without any strength left in our bodies we were all in it together and still smiling - proving Together We Are More.
