We helped Fidelius find a new agile working model, then created the perfect office to enable it.

Fidelius are a Bath company through-and-through and have always kept a headquarters in the city. When their existing lease expired, they engaged Interaction to help them find a new flagship location and understand their optimum way of working. Our workplace strategy team helped Fidelius identify a new working model which allowed them to reduce their floorplate whilst increasing the flexibility of their working space. After assisting them in finding a new home at 1 Bath Quays, we designed a brand-new office with integrated smart desk booking systems and distinct client zones.

Angular meets organic

Playing with texture

Key to the success of the new office was embracing a move to fully agile working; hot desks and collaborative working zones replacing the previous system of static desks. Equally as important was a separate-yet-integrated space which allowed clients to work and hold confidential meetings without interrupting the flow of business as usual.

On entry visitors are met by a welcoming reception, which leads onto a business lounge for clients, replete with coffee station, meeting rooms and informal workstations.

Fidelius employees from any office can book a workspace (desk, groups of desks or meeting spaces) from any location via a bespoke app. If they don’t check in via QR code within an allotted window the desk is released back into the bookable pool.

All meeting rooms contain large format screen and cutting-edge AV equipment, alongside high-performance acoustic treatments to guarantee confidential conversations don’t travel. The boardroom contains a foldable wall which can be used to turn the space into two separate rooms if needed.

A “take a break” space provides the perfect area for a town hall or training talk, with cameras and microphones that focus upon whoever is speaking, casting both audience and presenter to large dual screens; perfect for large hybrid meetings. Focus rooms are plug and play, allowing staff to connect seamlessly to the technology infrastructure, and a large collaboration zone makes it easy for teams to gather around a project.

The aesthetics of the office prove that “professional” doesn’t have to equal “personality-free”, with homely touches enlivening a high-quality environment.
